Our choice to homeschool our children has not always been an easy one, but the rewards we see through our children’s lives far outweigh any struggles we have experienced. Mike is now married and in 3rd year medical school. He and his wife Ellen have two wonderful children, Landen and Jessica. Ben has pursued his artistic giftings at NSCAD and has recently married. He and his wife Breanna are still seeking God’s direction for their future. Allison is currently completing her third year of university studies and is in the first year of the Pharmacy Program at Dalhousie University.

Our three youngest children are at home in grades 9, 7 and 5. Katelyn is 14 years old and is an avid reader. She plays piano and flute and is great on the computer. She is excited about working with HomeSchool and More. Rebekah is 12 years old. She is our animal lover and plays the violin. Our youngest, Charlotte is 10 years old and enjoys crafts and also plays the violin. These three continually delight and challenge us and cause us to wonder if we know anything at all.

Who We Are Marlene MacDonald is a veteran home educator having provided a homeschooling education to our 6 children over the last 14 years. During this period of time she has acquired an extensive knowledge of curriculums and homeschooling resources. Marlene enjoys talking about her experiences, what she has learned, sharing her knowledge of curriculum and encouraging others in their homeschooling journey.

Gertrude De Boer has gained a wealth of experience while homeschooling since 1991 and has taught or supervised all 12 grades. Gertrude started Home School and More in 1997, sold it to The MacDonald's in early 2007 and will continue to be involved in the business throughout 2007. Her favorite task is spending time discussing with customers what materials will best suit the needs of their children and how they can have a more successful homeschooling experience.
