Many homeschooling families have children ranging in age from baby/toddler through junior high or high school. Often when the "big" children are doing their school work, the toddler or preschooler also wants to do some "real schoolwork". If they are ready for cutting and pasting then you may find the Rod and Staff Preschool Series useful. Teaching little children can be so much fun and so rewarding if we don't make it a big deal, if we can relax and enjoy the moment. Peggy Kaye has written some excellent books to help keep learning light and meaningful and which will help give children a strong foundation, making later, more formal learning that much easier for them. She makes good use of games. As Peggy says in her introduction, "Games put children in exactly the right frame of mind for learning difficult things. Children relax when they play – and they concentrate. They don't mind repeating certain facts or procedures over and over, if repetition is part of the game. Children throw themselves into playing games the way they never throw themselves into filling out workbook pages. And games can, if you select the right ones, help children learn almost anything they need to master elementary grade material."
